With VirtualBox Portable, laptop PCs can run this open-source virtualization application. It is your primary computer’s ability to run one or more virtual computers. They are “virtual” because, instead of having a real presence, software is used to simulate the hardware. This is fairly common. Now that you have downloaded an ISO image of Linux—the file equivalent of a CD or DVD—you may create a new virtual machine, or VM, and start it by launching. functioning normally, which is known as your host and is running a Linux guest.
VirtualBox this article provides an overview of the CLI (command-line interface) tool, vboxmanage. This article aims to make it as quick and simple as possible for users who are new to vboxmanage—like me, who recently adopted VirtualBox for my Vagrant environments—to come up to speed. It is not intended to take the place of the comprehensive documentation.
User Interface:
You can use this widget to disable menus by clicking on the menu to release it, menu items by deselecting the check box for each entry, and the menu bar as a whole by deselecting the check box on the right.

VirtualBox, the virtual machine is in full screen or seamless mode, Oracle VM VirtualBox can display a small toolbar with some of the items normally available from the menu bar. This toolbar turns into a thin gray line if you don’t move the mouse over it.
What’s New:
- A few days ago, Oracle, formerly Sun and formerly Innotek, released an updated version of its flagship virtualization tool, VirtualBox.
- I really enjoy this fashionable, useful product; therefore, it’s time to give it a try.
- My only worry was how the quality and availability could alter under the new ownership, because Oracle has not been very friendly with some of its other applications, such as OpenSolaris and OpenOffice.
- I guess the solution is to refrain from utilizing “open” in any of your brands. Of course. Maybe.
Features:
- VirtualBox mac To view a list of all registered virtual machines, simply use vboxmanage list vms. Remember that if you are using Vagrant in addition to VirtualBox, this command will also show VirtualBox virtual machines that Vagrant has instantiated. Similarly, if you are using Docker Machine with VirtualBox, this command will show virtual machines created by Docker Machine.
- To get a list of all the virtual machines that are currently in use, use vboxmanage list running VMs.
- To start a virtual machine, use vboxmanage startvm . You can optionally include a –type parameter to control how the virtual machine is started. The host GUI will show it if you use –type gui; if you use –type headless, network communication is required.
- Once a virtual machine is up and running, you will use vboxmanage controlvm for most additional operations. For VM state actions, the pause, resume, reset, poweroff, and savestate are all acceptable. (I’ll discuss a few of the many subcommands later in this article.)
- A halted virtual machine can be unregistered (deleted) using the command vboxmanage unregistervm . Keep in mind that this does not erase the files on the virtual computer. To destroy the files, add the –delete argument to the command.
Release Notes of VirtualBox macOS Portable:
- The VirtualBox VM Manager crash that happened during the host’s wake-up was fixed (github:gh-121, github:gh-170).
- Translations into Indonesian, Greek, Swedish, Hungarian, and Traditional Chinese are now supported as native languages.
- Solved an issue where various port forwarding rules affected NAT operation (github: gh-232).
- The first supported kernel was 6.18.
- More kernel upgrades for RHEL 9.6 and 9.7 were included (github:gh-12).
- To fix the Windows XP SP2 guest installation failure issue (GitHub: gh-142), more patches were released.

How to Use?
Infrastructure Consolidation:
Because infrastructure consolidation significantly reduces the cost of hardware and electricity, it is a desirable option for commercial settings. You can consolidate your infrastructure by hosting several virtual machines on a single physical server, optimizing resource utilization, and reducing your business’s carbon footprint.
Cross-Platform Compatibility:
For users of several operating systems, this is an excellent choice. It ensures seamless interoperability and produces a versatile working environment by allowing you to run Windows, Linux, macOS, and other operating systems on your Mac.
Snapshot Management:
The ability to take snapshots of your virtual machines is groundbreaking. Snapshots provide a rapid and simple method of maintaining the current state of a virtual machine. For testers and software developers who must ensure repeatable and consistent conditions
Performance Optimization:
It contains advanced features for performance optimization. You may give each virtual machine resources like RAM and CPU cores to ensure your apps run smoothly.
User-Friendly Interface:
Its intuitive and user-friendly interface makes it suitable for both beginners and experts. Setting up and configuring virtual machines is made easy by its well-designed graphical user interface.
System Requirements:
- Reasonably powerful x86 hardware. Any recent Intel or AMD processor should do.
- Memory. Depending on what guest operating systems you want to run, you will need at least 512 MB of RAM (but probably more, and the more the better).
- Hard disk space. While VirtualBox itself is very lean (a typical installation will only need about 30 MB of hard disk space), the virtual machines will require fairly huge files on disk to represent their own hard disk storage. So, to install Windows 8, for example, you will need a file that will easily grow to several 10 GB in size.
- A supported host operating system. Presently, we support Windows, many Linux distributions, macOS, and Solaris. For the latest VirtualBox version, see manual.
- A supported guest operating system. Besides the user manual (see below), up-to-date information is available at “Status: Guest OSes.”
Installation and configuration
- Download the installation from fcportables.net or the official website.
- Run the installer and select installation or portable mode.
- Complete setup by following the on-screen instructions.
- It will prompt you to choose scan settings and deliver a brief cleaning lesson after installation.
- Its first-time wizard lets customers configure settings for maximum efficiency right away.
